The methanol production process is a typical loop process. The fresh, desulfurized gas containing carbon monoxide and hydrogen is first compressed and enters the methanol synthesis converter. Gaseous methanol and high-temperature steam will be obtained at the outlet of the methanol converter. Gaseous methanol is condensed and separated as the product. Part of the unreacted gas is used as purge gas, while most of the unreacted gas is combined with the fresh feed gas after cyclic compression.
Kapsom’s plant features the radial water-cooled plate methanol converter. The converter has a high utilization rate, improved heat transfer coefficient, and strong production capacity. Comparisons between Kapsom’s converter and conventional type of converter is shown as below diagram:
The methanol converter’s key innovation includes the plate-type radial-flow gas distributor and the unique heat transfer technology. Gas is constantly baffled between the plates, while the concave grove plates continuously change the direction of water flow. Such technology promotes a better heat transfer coefficient, which is 20% ~ 30% higher than that of a conventional tube converter and solves uneven heat transfer problems and large catalyst bed temperature gradient associated with the traditional type converter.
Flexible Capacity -20,000TPY~1,500,000TPY
High heat transfer coefficient– Heat transfer coefficient 20% ~ 30% higher than tube type unit
Smart Plant – Fully automatic operation
Superior Equipment – ASME, TEMA standards
Environment Friendly – Green Methanol Production Plant
With Kapsom’s efficiencient project management, client may construct the entire plant within 12 months.
